Bugatti Type 41/Royale 1927-1933
Only 6 were made (and not even all were sold), all with different custom bodywork. A huge car in all the sense of the word. It was 21 feet long and weighed approximately 7000 lbs (3175 kg) and used a 778 ci (12.7 liter) straight 8. Even though it was meant for royalty no royal ever ended up owning one.
Just look at the guy standing next to one...its huge!

Roadster with Viper V-10
Viper engined Roadster circa 1994. Don’t have any info on this car. Saw it when I was living in Rochester NY and the One Lap of America people had their finishing party there. They gathered all the cars that finished downtown, which of course brought out all the local hot rodders, and I snapped this shot.
If I remember right this was supposed to be a limited production car. Anybody have any idea what it is?

Cadillac Sedanette series 61 1949
I remember seeing one when I was in college in Melbourne, Florida and being completely awe struck by it. It was just like this one except a nice burgundy color. Next ride in my garage for sure!

Monteverdi Hai 650 F1 1992
Only two prototypes were built using Ford DFR F1 V8 engines. At one point in 1990 Monteverdi returned to field an F1 team by buying the Onyx Formula One team. They didn’t last the whole season racing in only 10 of 16 races. But one can assume that that is where the engines for the two Hai 650 prototypes came from.

Alfa Romeo Disco Volate/1900 C52 1952-1953
A series of three concept racing cars (2 coupes and 1 open top) with Alfa Romeo 1900 mechanicals. Raced only a handful of times although it did obtain a victory at the Gran Premio Supercortemaggiore.
A beautiful example of the early "if it looks good it works good" type of aerodynamics.

Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II First flight 1972
One of my all time favorite modern airplanes…50 mm gatling gun(the biggest gun mounted on single seat airplane), titanium tub for the pilot, twin engines placed above and behind the wings for ground fire protection, twin vertical tails partialy covering the engine exhaust, and a huge amount of external ordnance mounting points. Even the wheels were left out of the fuselage for easier wheels up landing in case of hydraulic failure. All designed to go up against tanks and other heavy ground targets and still survive. Definitively not the fastest airplane in the Air Force, but certainly the toughest.

Caparo T1 2007
Runs a 3.5 V8 with a full carbon chassis. Pictured without and with the full bubble canopy. Ironically the company that bought this project (originally it was designed by a couple of ex MCLaren engineers who then sold the project to Caparo) specializes in steel manufacture.
Tsushima Island, Japan
I guess few people realize there are tropical waters in Japan and get surprised when I show them pictures of the gorgeous white sand beaches with turquoise water that there are there.
Porsche 944
Look how tiny the 944 looks besides the Impreza and the Mazda! Older cars for sure had a lot less crash stuff to deal with, cant help but miss the smaller lighter cars from the late 80s, early 90s though.
Im pretty curious now to see how the aerodynamics would compare between these three...
Baja Boot 1967
Made by Chevrolet engineer Vic Hickey specifically for the Baja 1000. It was the first design built from scratch for the off road race with a tube frame chassis, 4 wheel drive, all around independent suspension, and a mid engine Chevy V8.
Also involved with the first Baja 1000 was Dave Ekins’ brother Bud, who had a Triumph dealership and raced motorcycles in the 50s and 60s. In 1963 Ekins customer Steve McQueen asked Bud to do some motorcycle stunt work for the film The Great Escape. Ekins went on to a highly successful career as a Hollywood stuntman. And that is how Steve McQueen ended up driving the Baja Boot in two Baja 1000s! He didnt win either race, on the first try an axle sheared off, and on the second the gearbox failed.
Porsche 944 with DP break conversion
Awesome looking conversion! Would make a heck of a practical and fun daily driver. Last couple of builds were available just a few months ago, guess they had some NOS parts laying around and decided to complete a few cars with them.
Just found lout the pics came from Helmut Schnug at shooting-brake.com
