The evolutions of the 905 get pretty radical from the first variation on top to the last one on the bottom. The fourth picture is a rain tire developed for the Evo 2 but that car was never raced only tested. Peugeot was quite successful however winning Le Mans two years in a row (1992-1993) and actually coming in 1st 2nd and 3rd in 1993.
I remember Continental having a tire just like that for road cars at some point. I think it was called the Aqua Contact…or something similar.
